7TH ASEM SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT DIALOGUE

In September 2018 Budapest will be the capital of water again: Hungary will host two remarkable, international water related professional conferences.

The two international events, focusing on Europe and Asia, are waiting with their rich, one week-long professional programs for their participants coming from more than 50 member countries of ASEM (Asia-Europe Meeting) – public and private sector decision-makers, water utility professionals, experts, company leaders and other stakeholders.
The conferences will be a platform for the participants to exchange views and share experiences on the most pressing challenges and potential solutions in the field of sustainable, cross-continental and integrated water management, and to discuss latest trends and to share best practices, in order to identify and promote efficient global water management practices.

7th ASEM Sustainable Development Dialogue

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Department for Water Diplomacy and the Danube Region Strategy, will be hosting the 7th ASEM Sustainable Development Dialogue on “Sustainable and Integrated Water Management in the 21st century – addressing imminent challenges” conference, where participants can listen to keynote speeches and panel discussions of acknowledged Asian and European experts.

The high-profile event - in the light of basin level cooperation - to be held between 11 and 12 September 2018 in Budapest, Hungary. The aim of the two-day event is to promote the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals and targets related to water and sanitation, as well as to achieve progress on the implementation of the Danube-Mekong Cooperation Initiative launched by Hungary in 2012. The seventh dialogue will be hosted again by Hungary.

The organisers expect approximately 150 participants – high-level representatives and experts from ASEM countries, European External Action Service, the European Commission and the ASEAN Secretariat, including government officials, scholars, researchers, leaders and experts of regional and international institutions/organizations, local authorities as well as the non-governmental and business sectors.

Participation at the English speaking conference is free of charge but preliminary registration is required. In view of the widespread interest towards the Dialogue we regret to inform you that the registration is closed.

Eurasian Water Conference – urban solutions for global challenges

The Eurasian Water Conference is concentrating on urban water management with the aim to discuss and identify effective and innovative solutions on crucial aspects related to urbanization and its impact on sustainable water development.
The event will be held under the patronage of HE János Áder, President of Hungary and organized by the Hungarian Water Cluster and ASEM Water. Co-organizers of the conference are the European Water Association and the Hungarian Water Association with the professional support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary.
